Christmas Social, Easter Social etc
Another badminton season is coming to a close and so the Harborough Feathers AGM will take place on Saturday 13th July, 6.30pm at The Cherry Tree, Market Harborough. This will be followed by the end of season club social that is being organised by Marcus.
The AGM is a great opportunity to have your say on how the club is run (including subscription fees, team entries, venue, shuttles etc) and to get involved. We would therefore absolutely welcome your attendance and input at the AGM, even if you do not wish to take on a more active role with the club.
Having said that, the club cannot exist without volunteers to help run it, so we are always looking for people to get involved and offer to help on the committee. All committee positions will be up for election at the AGM, including:
Most of the committee roles are not too time consuming and you are welcome to ask myself or one of the existing committee members what the roles involve. Note also that we cannot enter teams into the league(s) without team captains.
If you are interested in any of the roles on the committee or would like to add something to the agenda for discussion at the AGM, then please let me know by Friday 5th July. Likewise, if you are unable to attend and would like something raised, then please let me know.
The last club night of the season will be on Friday 12th July, but we hope to see as many of you as possible at the AGM and end of season social.
A reminder that the Christmas social is taking place on Friday 15th December. For those who have already informed Marcus of their attendance, the evening will start with a meal at Avatar Dining at 6.30pm.
We will then head to one of the local pubs (venue to be confirmed). If you are not coming for the meal, feel free to join us after.
Please attend the meal you have not informed Marcus, as the table is booked for a specific number.
Marcus has organised the following social events:
Starting off with food at Mercado Lounge in Market Harborough at 7pm, followed by drinks in town.
End of season get together held at Thorpe Langton Brewery, offering good music, food and drinks. There is a small fee for tickets, but definitely worthwhile. More details to follow.
Please let Marcus know if you can attend, either at a club session, via WhatsApp or email (social@harborough-feathers.co.uk).
The Christmas social this year will take place on Friday 16th December.
A booking has been made for a curry at Avatar Dining, Market Harborough at 7pm. Please let Marcus (social@harborough-feathers.co.uk) know if you would like to attend.
For those not coming for a curry, we can arrange to meet after at one of the many drinking establishments in town (details to follow).
Our enthusiastic new social secretary (Marcus) has arranged the following upcoming club social events:

Friday December 16th 7:30pm
Food and drinks to celebrate. Please let us know if interested in the next couple of weeks so that we have an idea of numbers. Location tbc but in Market Harborough.
Please speak to Marcus at club night or email social@harborough-feathers.co.uk for more details or to confirm attendance.
We hope to see some of you there.
We have tried to find a date that is suitable for most people and is not too close to Christmas. This date is Saturday 11th of December. The plan is to do a tour of the fine pubs of Market Harborough on foot. We hope to see as many of you as possible.
More details to follow.
Many thanks
Tom Wyburn (Social Secretary)
